INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP

Pecan Energies A Pan African Oil and Gas operator

Pecan Energies, previously known as Aker Energy, was originally founded in June 2018. Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) acquired Pecan Energies, the operator and 50 per cent shareholder in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block offshore Ghana. The acquisition was a demonstration of AFC’s commitment to ensure that Africa’s natural resources, including its vast oil and gas reserves, are developed sustainably within the global framework on energy transition and the UN Sustainable Development Goals whilst retaining value on the continent.

Pecan Energies develops the Pecan field in ultra-deep waters offshore Ghana. We are a Pan-African owned energy leader driven by the purpose of building prosperity and enabling growth for African communities. We are passionate about sustainable development and harnessing our commercial and technical expertise for development outcomes in Ghana and beyond. Our goal is to realise the full social and economic impact potential of the entire Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block. As part of promoting sustainable socio-economic growth in Ghana the flagship Corporate Social Responsibility program of Pecan Energies, Pecan Inspire Scholarship Program which begun in 2020, was designed to provide scholarships to financially disadvantaged yet academically talented students in Ghana. Our primary goal is to support these students in pursuing tertiary education, empowering them to reach their full potential and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development in Ghana. The scholarship primarily targets and prioritizes eligible students from the coastal districts of the Western Region of Ghana, namely Jomoro, Ellembelle, Nzema East, Ahanta West, Sekondi-Takoradi and Shama. We are excited to support and inspire the next generation of leaders in Ghana!
